Email notification for Smart Array P400 - how?
Hi,
we bought a Proliant ML150 and used a Smart Array P400 controller for the disks. Now I would like to monitor the disk array status. Unfortuantly it seems, that HP doesn't support on the 100 series any HP management agents (see http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1283860).
However, I don't want to monitor the build in controller, but the P400 which is usually not in the 100 series.
How can I receive an email notification for the P400 on other hardware like the ML 150? Is there a (small) software somewhere?

Re: Email notification for Smart Array P400 - how?
The P400 is managed/monitored by the smartarray ACU/ADU software. I don't know if the software has any builtin notification features but it has commands to check the health status of the array and these commands can be used to send out alerts.

Re: Email notification for Smart Array P400 - how?
Thanks for answering! :-)
I installed ACU already and it does show me the current status. However that's pretty much all it does, which means I have to check the system every onces in a while. This is not acceptable :-( I'm looking for a way to let the software send me a notification if something is wrong. Only this way I'll be able to reactive in time.

Check out if ADU is installed along with ACU. If not you can download it and install it. It does diagnostic and reporting for the P400.
