Error 5040: Another local program is already running

Hello,

I have a problem with one MA8000 storage system with two HSG80 controllers with software v8.7. When I execute "directory" or "run whatever" commands I get the message "Error 5040: Another local program is already running". I cannot find any reference to this error in the troubleshooting guide. If there is something running, how can I know what it is and how can I stop it?

Fernando,
it looks to me that you have several management paths - e.g. access from the maintanance port and access via SWCC (StorageWorks Command Console). Sounds like a program is already running on one of the other paths.

If nothing helps to get rid of it, I am afraid you have to reboot the affected controller.
