Event ID 9 / 24683
Hello!
Server : ProLiant DL380 G3
Controller : Embedded Smart Array 5i
OS : Windows 2003 / SP1
Firmware : Firmware Maintenance CD 7.40
Drivers : ProLiant Support Pack for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 7.40A
After upgrading to the above mentioned firmware/drivers I keep getting these
messages in my eventlog:
Event ID: 9 - The device, \Device\Scsi\cpqcissm1, did not respond
within the timeout period.
Event ID: 24683 - SCSI bus fault occurred on Storage Box box 0, , Port 1 of Array
Controller [Embedded].
This may result in a "downshift" in transfer rate for one or more hard drives on the bus.
Since the messages came after the upgrade it
is probably software-related, and I have
seen this mentioned in the forum with earlier
versions of firmware/drivers, but I thought
this was sorted out with the latest software.
Any ideas?
Arild

Re: Event ID 9 / 24683
I'm having the exact same problem, except on the Embedded Smart Array 6i. Would this issue degrade the transfer rate to/from this array?

Re: Event ID 9 / 24683
Did you connect a tapedrive to your smart array controller?
