Expand Array on Exchange Server

Our Exchange 2003 server runs on a DL380 G4. We need to expand the drive array, but I'm concerned about the effect this would have on the Exchange information store. It's not really practical to bring down the info store long enough to expand the array since it takes so long, so I'm in a quandary about how to proceed. Thanks in advance for any advice.

What array or controller are you using? What OS? If it's a raid controller, not external disk array - is there a BBWC installed?

It's a Smart Array 6i RAID controller, not external storage, and Windows 2003. How can I tell if it has BBWC?

Re: Expand Array on Exchange Server

SA 6i supports online expansion, so you don't need to bring the infostore down. But i recommend you to make a backup before doing an expansion and don't do the expansion during highly-loaded hours. As for BBWC, look into ACU, it should show you if it's installed. I'm not sure about 6i, but i suspect that it just won't do the online migration without BBWC - this feature will be turned off.
