Expand MSA1000

Anyone know what i need to expand my MSA1000 with a new 14 slot cabinet? Also, are the 300Gb disks working with this cabinet?

Re: Expand MSA1000

Hello Lars,
you can re-use an M4314 or M4354 disk drive enclosure. For new buys you'd choose either the MSA30 SB or MSA30 DB enclosure.

SB = single bus - all 14 disks connect to the same SCSI bus

DB = dual bus - 7 disk on the left side go to one bus, 7 disks on the right side go to the other bus

The MSA1000 has two external busses, so you can use:
- 2x M4314 or MSA30 SB
- 1x M4354 or MSA30 DB

For the MSA30 you'd need recent firmware in the MSA1000.

Re: Expand MSA1000

According to the MSA1000 firmware version 4.32 (the current one) release notes, support was introduced here.

Re: Expand MSA1000

Hi,

firmware version is OS dependent.
Look at the link:
