Expand a Logical Drive

I have a Smart Array 5312 controller using raid 1 comprised of 2 * 36gb drives.

If I fail and rebuild the array using 146gb drives one at a time can I expand the logical drive using the acu and then extend within windows using diskpart.exe keeping all the data ?

thanks in advance

Andy.

Re: Expand a Logical Drive

No. You will not be able to expand the logical drive. You can extend the logical drive (i know, i know... shoot me now) and then use diskpart.

The gotcha is that if the System Partition is the one you wish to expand, then you can not use diskpart and will have to find an alternative.

If it is just a data partition, then you should be all set.
