Expansion complete but unallocated
I have an HP Proliant 380 G5 with p400 array controller on a windows 2003 server, BBWC is installed to allow for live expansion of arrays. I added two 72GB SAS 15k drives to an existing RAID 5 array consisting of 4 drives.
I used ACU to make this configuration change. ACU now reflects array B (array A is a system mirror) having 6 disks. The controller state is now blank with messages, meaning processing or queing of parity is done. After expansion, I extended array B as unallocated space was reflected. The physical view now reflects the 6 disks of 72 GB, and logical view of (349871 MB, RAID 5).
When viewing Computer Management --> Disk Management in windows, I still have 136 GB of space Unallocated
Am I missing a step in ACU to finalize this, or must I use a third party disk extender on the Windows side to finalize?
There seems to be a gap in the documentation at hand and want to make sure that I am doing this right before going forward.
Thanks,
Hylon

Re: Expansion complete but unallocated
Hi,
yes after the logical drive has been expanded you need to tell the OS about it.
