Re: Extending VA space.

Hi,
docs for the VA7110 at:
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/va7110/index.html

General method:
1. Add physical drives to array
2. Make drives known to the array
3. Create LUNs on the array
4. Use the LUNs on the machine of your choice

Hi,

I agree with peter.
One remark. Don't increase the size of your LUN's because your OS cannot handle with this.

Re: Extending VA space.

Here (See Attachment) is the procedure I follow. It has given me no problems:
In it I use armdsp, launcher (Command View GUI), fcmsutil, and LVM and other simple HPUX commands.

It includes the following broad steps:
DISK INSTALL & CONFIRMATION
LUN CREATION & MASKING PLAN
LVM WORK (VxVM steps are not provided)

Re: Extending VA space.

First of all, you should read VA document!
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/va7110/index.html

YOu can check the available space on VA by
#armdsp -a VAalias (Command view SDM is required)
If not enought space:

- Add disks to array
- Create LUN on Array
- See LUN on host (host call LUN as PV)
HTH
HP is simple

Apologies, there were some typos in the prior attachment. Here is the corrected doc.
