Hi, collegues
I have EVA, its switches connected to 2 different fabrics - and each has 2 ports - one in one fabric, another one in another. Server connected only to one of those fabric (it has only one hba). I presented vdisk from EVA to this server and ioscan shows 4 pathes instead 2
disk 7 0/0/2/1/0.2.0.0.0.0.1 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE COMPAQ HSV111 (C)COMPAQ
/dev/dsk/c4t0d1 /dev/rdsk/c4t0d1
disk 8 0/0/2/1/0.2.0.255.0.0.1 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE COMPAQ HSV111 (C)COMPAQ
/dev/dsk/c5t0d1 /dev/rdsk/c5t0d1
disk 5 0/0/2/1/0.2.1.0.0.0.1 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE COMPAQ HSV111 (C)COMPAQ
/dev/dsk/c6t0d1 /dev/rdsk/c6t0d1
disk 6 0/0/2/1/0.2.1.255.0.0.1 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE COMPAQ HSV111 (C)COMPAQ
/dev/dsk/c7t0d1 /dev/rdsk/c7t0d1
"255" in second pair of pathes leads to suspiction that there is some multipathing software like secure path or autopath, but I am aneble to find it.
Can one help?

Re: Extra pathes for disk presented from EVA
Hi, Hasan
You are completly and absolutly right! I failed to set correct OS type for this host while I did it for other hosts.
Thanks

Re: Extra pathes for disk presented from EVA
hp-ux is using Peripheral Device Addressing (PDA) for loops and Logical Unit Adressing (LUN) for fabrics to access the storage devices; if you don't set the correct host mode you will see this "mix".
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
