I have tried to update the firmware in an AutoRAID model 12 from HP25 to HP27 but it fails as follows:

Shutting Down. Shutdown Complete
Firmware Loading
`Write Buffer' command failed: SCSI error.
SCSI status: 2 `CHECK CONDITION'
SCSI sense: 5 `ILLEGAL REQUEST'
ASC/ASCQ: 24/0 ILLEGAL FIELD IN CDB

sense data: 70 0 5 0 0 0 0 e
sense data: 0 0 0 0 24 0 0 0
sense data: 0 0 12 0 7 0

Re: F/W update failure on AutoRAID

So you've found HP27 firmware... great!
Please check which IPR you have installed (swlist -l product), and please instead of using array's serial number try raw (rdsk) device file of primary controller (displayed in arraydsp -a)

Re: F/W update failure on AutoRAID

You can try using DFDUTIL_VHP62-HP27.LIF
This for offline upgrade Autoraid FW.
