To make it easier to find information about HPE Storage products and solutions, we are doing spring cleaning. This includes consolidation of some older boards, and a simpler structure that more accurately reflects how people use HPE Storage.

Re: FC-SW and FC-AL

According to a Brocade training class. The address word is composed of 3 hex bytes.
-
DD,PP,LL
DD = Domain ID # of the switch.
PP = Port # of the switch.
LL = Arbitrated Loop ID # of the device.
-
Note: if the Fabric PID_FORMAT = 0, then the leaing digit of PP = 1x. this limits you to a 16 port switch. If you have larger than a 16 port switch, then you MUST use the PID_FOMAT = 1 which turns this off.
-
Note#2: In Fabric mode, LL = 00
