FC60 with 10k or 15k rpm drives - which best?

We have received two quotes for L class systems with FC60s. One uses 10krpm SCSII 2 drives, the other 15krpm SCSI 3 drives. The fact that the FC60 connects to its drives with SCSI 2 makes us wonder if there would be any real speed advantage to using the faster drives. I'm hoping someone has done the arithmetic (or better still, a real test) already.

As you correctly mentioned, the transfer rate remains the same in both cases, but the seek time internally is lower for the 15,000rpm disks. Follow this link for more details:
