Failed physical drive alert - how can I fix it?
More info:
I am using a Raid 5 configuration, with 3 physical drives.
This is what ACU says under "Physical Drives":
0 MB SAS Drive at Port 1I : Box 1 : Bay 3
146 GB 2-Port SAS Drive at Port 1I : Box 1 : Bay 1
146 GB 1-Port SAS Drive at Port 1I : Box 1 : Bay 2
And under "Spare Drives":
146 GB 2-Port SAS Drive at Port 1I : Box 1 : Bay 4 (Active Spare)
Since Bay 3 is empty, I guess I should configure the Array to take that into consideration.
But I am not sure how to proceed. I read all the manuals and still don't know.
Can you help?
thanks

I guess 'ioscan' would be for a Unix box.
What would be the equivalent in Windows?

Re: Failed physical drive alert - how can I fix it?
Then I have another drive on Bay 4 (that appears as "Active Spare"). I am not sure what it means.
Initially, Bay 3 had a drive, but it is empty now, because the bay seems to be failing, and our support guys told me to stop using it.
Is it possible to use Bay 4, with its "active spare" drive, as part of the Raid 5 configuration?

Re: Failed physical drive alert - how can I fix it?
raid 5 work in by putting all disks together other wise your raid will be break without three drives. put all drives together to avoid any mishap.

Re: Failed physical drive alert - how can I fix it?
I am trying to put them together as a Raid 5, but I don't know how to do it. I have 3 physical drives, so I understand I have enough drive, but I do not know how to continue.
What would be the procedure in Win Server 2003?

Re: Failed physical drive alert - how can I fix it?
put them in sequence. first on first bay, second on 2nd place and adjust your 4th bay drive on third location. if data is not critical you can make new raid 5 again.

Re: Failed physical drive alert - how can I fix it?
Is there any way to use the drive on Bay 4 as part of the Raid and leave Bay 3 empty?
The reason I'm asking is because Bay 3 seems to be broken (it has damaged 2 drives already), and wanted to avoid using it.
