HP Command View EVA Problem,,Urgent
We have HP command View EVA installed at our Windows 2003 Server.
We have EVA4400 for our Oracle ERP Server. Due to shifting of servers from one Datacenter to other. IP Addresses of servers are changed.
After this We are unable to view the EVA.
After i login to HP Command View EVA i get following error.
Storage System Managed by Another Server
Another management server named SHOFS1001 at IP address 192.168.1.11 may be actively managing storage system EFG_EVA4400.
Only one server is allowed to manage a storage system at a time.
To disable other management servers, simply click the OK button and management will be redirected to this server.
Click the Cancel button to leave this page without changing the management server for this system.

Re: HP Command View EVA Problem,,Urgent
You can also try to take control of the array using SSSU:
SET SYSTEM EVA_NAME manage

Re: HP Command View EVA Problem,,Urgent
Take over the session by clicking the ok button - this cancels the previous session.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP Command View EVA Problem,,Urgent
That would not have helped.
Once a CV-EVA instance has registered its management ownership on the EVA, it is kept there in the meta-data area of the EVA. If you want to manage the EVA from another instance, you have to "take over" the control like described above (CV+OK button or SSSU).
What happens with the first instance? Well, a CV-EVA instance periodically checks if it is still registered on the EVA. If that is no longer the case, it keeps the "fingers off that EVA" - in CV-EVA you will see the icon switch from green to grey. That way you can easily have multiple (warm standby) managers and switch forth and back.
