HP MSA60 And Microsoft Cluster

Hi all,

I need to create at Windows 2003 two node SQL cluster (active/passive). I need shared storage. HP has recommended the MSA2000fc, however, I think it is way overkill for what I need. I just need the quorum drive and about 1TB of RAID 5 storage and 600GB of RAID1. I was thinking of using something like the MSA60 with (1) P800 per server, however the quickspec only mention support for MC/ServiceGuard. The quickspecs also mention that multi-initiator support is only available for HP-UX and OpenVMS. Is anyone using an MSA60 in a 2 node cluster environment or can anyone see a reason why I couldn't do what I am trying to do?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

No one replied, I ended up finding the answer. Which is "no". Thanks

Re: HP MSA60 And Microsoft Cluster

Hi,
I am in exactly the same scenario. Did you get a reason why this would not be possible? i.e 2 node active/passive SQL with MSA60?

How about a MSA200Sa ? It supports clustering and uses up to 4 SAS Host connections instead of Fibre. It will be a lot less expensive than the FC model since you do not need HBA's and FC Switches
