HP SmartArray E200i add 6 drives

Hello,

I've got some questions about this controller.

I've made already a mirror 1 raid array with two drives.

But I have another 6 drives I have to add somehow in the array. Is there a way I can add them without destroing the current mirror? (The system must be up and running, and the drives are hot spare SAS).

This feature is called "online capacity expansion" but you must have the BBWC option with the E200.

You should be able to access this feature through the ACU software.

Thank you for your firm response!

Do you have any idea about this ACU software? Is it avaiable for Fedora also? Or where can I download it?The link from this site is broken so I am unable to download this software.

Re: HP SmartArray E200i add 6 drives

That's so annoying. Not only the link taht you mention is broken but the Linux download links in this page are also broken

The windows link do work however.

This website provides some more info

It looks like you have to talk to your HP rep.

I did some more snooping around and found this link
http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/linux/hplinuxcert.html
I followed one of the servers (DL380 G5)
http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/linux/dl380g5-drivers-cert.html
and clicked on the Red hat Ent Serv Linux 5

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3288134&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=1121516&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=4006
Towards the bottom selected the system management software HP ACU (two versions)
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=1121516&prodNameId=3288134&swEnvOID=4006&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-1f8af59162b243caa9e4f8e97d

You can browse around to see if anything in there might work for you. No mention of Debian anywhere, only RH and Suse

TTr, thank you very much!

I have FC6, let's hope that the RHEL version will do the job.
