origially EMA16000 was used with GS160.

Re: HP rp8420 connect to EMA16000,

Hello hua,

the EMA16000 supports HP-UX. I suggest you use ACS V8.7 on you HSG80 contollers if you don't already do so. Then you can set your connection's OPERATING_SYSTEM to HP_VSA which allows more than 8 LUNs per controller port.

Re: HP rp8420 connect to EMA16000,

And you will also need SecurePath software to make things robust and easier to manage on the HP-UX side. Better get 3.0D or 3.0E.

Re: HP rp8420 connect to EMA16000,

Yes.. I think SecurePath is included in the Platform Kit along with SSU.

Re: HP rp8420 connect to EMA16000,

No, Secure Path is not included in the platform kit, but Secure Path includes required drivers for the storage arrays.

The EVA platform kit (V3.0E) just contains SSSU - I didn't have time to check the HSG platform kit, which is at:

Re: HP rp8420 connect to EMA16000,

Hmm.. the "Kit" which we got as part of our 3.014 upgrade was delivered with The Kit and SecurePath 3.0D .. although I cannot confirm if it indeed was in the same package/CD as the Kit.. since I merely downloaded the 3.0D webkit instead of having someone locate the CD sets...

You're probably right Uwe..

Nevertheless Hua, I suggest you get SecurePath if you can.
