HP05 FW for ST373307FC, HP0A for ST373405FC

Hi Folks,

we were updating our va7410 to A140 FW. The most recent FW level for the two types of 73GB drives in the subject seems not to be easily available via HP web site.

If you go to http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=316166&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=89018&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=54
you find as the latest bundle for va7410 includes only pretty old versions of FW.
(In my case HP03 for ST373307FC and HP09 for ST373405FC).

Could you help me with this ?

I'm pretty sure HP no longer supplies HDD firmware as a downloadable item. They want their own field engineers to do this. That was the word I got last time we upgraded the HDD F/W in our EVAs. Maybe it's different with the VA, but I'm thinking they'd try to be consistent.

It's the same for the VAs. We just did a couple of VA7100s here and had to have a CE come out. The procedure really isn't that difficult so not sure why they insist on having the CE come out. Oh well.

In terms of VA the opposite is probably true. Even the VA firmware is at least several months old, the files appeared on the internet just some weeks ago. Contact the HP support for the current disk fw files and make them aware of this.

I'll go straight to local HP to get the FW available.
The one available from the va7410 FW website is not up to date.

Hi Guys,

When i tried to update the firmware for ST373307FC on VA7110, couldn't succed it.

Observed that the present availabe firmware on my VA7110 for ST373307FC is HP05 dated on 1 Jan 2005, But the firmware for teh same available on HP site is HP03 dated on 3 Apr 2006. Though i tried to update it doubtly, but it's failed.

As a commom man doubts, how come the latest version can have the lower number i.e HP03?

Pls guide me to get the latest firmware for ST373307FC.
