HSZ80 -ACS V8

Hello all,

Had created a Unit and allocated it to a particular FS (call that /fs). Now I fall short of space for that particular FS and want to expand the unit by adding another disk to the existing unit (mirrored). Can I add that safely and what would be the best way to carry on with that.

Thanks in advance.

Re: HSZ80 -ACS V8

You don't say what version 8 point "something" ACS your storage controller is running. I can't remember if the CONCATSET feature got back ported to the HSZ controllers, but if it did and your ACS is up to date you could convert your unit into a CONCATSET and then expand it:

ADD CONCATSET C1

SET C1 ADD=

Where "oldcontainername" is the name of the existing mirror and "newcontainername" is the name of the new mirror.

Alternately, if you are using AdvFS and have the AdvFS utilities licensed you could just add another unit and use the Unix 'addvol' utility to increase the size of the filesystem.
