Help regarding expansion of raid-5 array

Hi,
I've got a common problem to sort out.

HP diskrack with 6 disks (146 GB). Smart 6402 controller. acu 6.40

I need to expand this single raid-5 array and still have ONE logical disk.

The logical disk is configured as dynamic-simple, is it possible just to select expand when i've added the new drives to the array?

1. Can I use 300GB disks instead?
Creating a new array with these and simply adding the unused space to the already existing logical drive.

2. If I have to use spanned volumes, will this compromise the the Raid-5 security ?

3. Time is important, how much time will it take ?, the logical drive is pretty much full.

Thanks in advance.

Regards.
