Storage Boards Cleanup
To make it easier to find information about HPE Storage products and solutions, we are doing spring cleaning. This includes consolidation of some older boards, and a simpler structure that more accurately reflects how people use HPE Storage.

Host name changed, Command View remembers old one

This is for Command View SDM 1.09.

What file retains the host name and causes the GUI startup to fail? I've done the armdiscover, armxxxx commands work fine, and launcher sees the array, but when clicking on it returns:

Init error for device:'oldname:00SGE00010BP'
Init error: Initial Device Exception
Failed to open target oldname@NULL:Error logging in:NOT BOUND IN REGISTRY

I need to change 'oldname' to 'newname' somewhere.

Thanks...

Re: Host name changed, Command View remembers old one

Since the hostname was changed, there is relevant information in that regard in the CV SDM user guide http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00300018/c00300018.pdf

On page 57, it says to delete the old hostname entry from the device database. If it doesn't help , then device database may need to be rebuilt. The database rebuild procedure is given on page 58.

Thanks Sameer for the pointer to the specific page. Had to delete and rebuild the DeviceDBFile.
