How to re-convert Raid0 to Raid5?

Our MSA500 G2 has a RAID5 on 5 300GB Disk + 1 300GB spare, ARRAY1!

In this ARRAY1 is a logical drive with ca. 1144407 MB!

Yesterday I accidentally convert the RAID5 to RAID0! This action ends without problems and everything is fine at present.

Now I have a logical drive with size of ca. 1144407 MB and free disk space of ca. 286 101 MB.

What should I do to re-convert the RAID0 to RAID5 without loosing data und without downtime?

If I start config-assistant and choose RAID5 to reconfigure the logical drive, I became a message that sometimes the data will be deleted, if no logical drive is configured on ARRAY1!
But there is a logical drive!

Is that the right procedure to get back the RAID5?

best regards

Sebastian

Re: How to re-convert Raid0 to Raid5?

You should be able to migrate the logical unit from RAID 0 to RAID 5 as there's space for the parity data.
Please post the exact message you get when doing this.

no worries just proceed as you did yesterday

that message only says data should be backup before any Hard drive activity as always ACU let us know

just continue
