I/O Card for Jamaïca disk storage

I have a Jamaïca disk storage (A3311A) on a D390 server with the following interface card :
"GSC add-on Fast/Wide SCSI Interface"

I want to plug my Jamaïca on a J5000. I have been told that I need the FW-SCSI card A4976A.

Are these two cards the same card ? (I don't know the AXXXX reference for the first c

Re: I/O Card for Jamaïca disk storage

Hi,

the A4976 is a PCI card (FWD-SCSI which is what you need to connect the Jamaica).

The D-Class servers do not have PCI slots, ie. no cards that would fit in a J-class WS.

Re: I/O Card for Jamaïca disk storage

Hi there.
Just a bit more about D-class interfaces.
In these machines they put the HSC bus system
( high speed connect ).
This is a HP specific bus system and developped from the former HP PB ( HP precision bus ) for a far better performance.

An interface for FWD ( HVD scsi ) on pci bus systems is Adaptec 2944.
