Increasing storage capacity by connecting another storagework

Hi Team,

We have HP Storageworks MSA2312fc enclosure with 12 disks (mix of SAS and SATA). We have bought another MSA2312fc enclosure. Can anyone guide us with the procedure to connect the both storage to increase the total capacity? Is there any procedure to make storage enclosure as primery or secondary as we don't have fc connectivity on new storage and idea is to just cascade\uplink it with the existing enclosure.
We can see SAS connectivity on the enclosure.

Thanks

Regards,
Rohit

No, you cannot connect them one to another or one "behind" another like EVA behind XP. But you can use LVM (depends on OS your are using) to make both of your MSAs to look like one partition for example.

Can you tell what you intend to do with LVM there?

Re: Increasing storage capacity by connecting another storagework

Hmm... Well, for example, topic-starter can use windows "lvm" (yes, i know, that's not literally lvm) to build raid0 with two LUNs from two MSAs. Anyway - "it depends" (c) on OS used by topic-starter.

Thanks guys. This issue got resolved. We have found that HP have shipped the wrong SAS cable to interconnect HP storage enclosures. We got the right cable now and able to interconnect the enclosures to increase the available storage size.

Woops... I thought that was two separate 2312fc "heads" :D. Sorry for misunderstanding!
