Installing Server OS on Proliant ML370 (P17)

Good people,
Please help me, why is it that Windows 2000 Server and Windows NT4 Server are failing to detect hard disks on my Compaq Proliant ML370 Server, yet I am able to install Windows 98, Windows XP and Windows 2000 Professional. I tried to run Array Configuration Utility, it also reports that 'no configurable disks are available'. So, how come Win98 and WinXP are working. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

you are installing from the snmart start cd?

did you tried to install from a win2k CD?
