Logical Volume Expansion

We have a Smart Array 5300 Controller installed in an ML570 and I have added an additional disk to expand a RAID 5 Logical Volume which currently contain 3 x 18.2Gb disks. When I go to array configurator and try to configure unassigned physical drives, select expand the existing array, the option to Extend an existing Logical Drive is Greyed out. According to the help is it because of one of the following:

Note: This option is disabled if logical drive extension is not possible. The following conditions prevent logical drive extension:

?The controller does not support logical drive extension
?The controller does not have a battery-backed cache
?The battery-backed cache is not fully charged
?The battery-backed cache is disabled
?The controller has been enabled as an Online Recovery Server controller
?The controller has one or more arrays with one or more failed physical drives
?Capacity expansion, extension, migration, or a rebuild is currently in progress on the controller

?The controller does not have any saved logical drives to extend
?All logical drives that are capable of being extended have reached their maximum extended size

I have performed Diagnostics on the array and everything appears to be working fine, why can I not expand the existing array.

The only options I can't check are the following:

?The battery-backed cache is not fully charged
?The battery-backed cache is disabled
?The controller has been enabled as an Online Recovery Server controller
?The controller does not have any saved logical drives to extend

Any ideas, would be gratefully recieved.

Cheers

Rob
