MA8000's and 300gb drives..( worked with V87F code ?! )
Was wondering... we have several MA8000 arrays and had planned to migrate to 300gb drives.. now I know they where NOT ever listed to be supported devices BUT they did in fact work running V8.7F-7 rev hsg80 code.. we recently went to V8.8F-2 code to "enjoy" the many fixes claimed included.. Well it now seems the 300GB drives are LOCKED OUT / WONT work ? ! Any chance HP can issue a patch to reenable them and let them at least "work" at our risk.. I have also just taken receipt of V8.8 -3 and -4 patches.. I dont suppose appplication of those will help ( they only claim a Tru64 and Mirror set fix... ) ..Suggestions ? Is there a "way" to contact Storageworks Engineering for this type request ?
direct correspondence on this with me is most welcome !
later,thank you

It is not likely to get 300GB disk support. Perhaps if some of the bigger companies still using HSG80 based storage make a stink...
