ML330 G3 - MEGARAID ATA (CSB-6) - Problems rebuilding a DEGRADED RAID1 array...
We have a HP Proliant ML330 G3 configured with a RAID1 array (i.e. 2 X 40GB Maxtor)using the onboard MEGARAID CSB-6 controller.
The second drive recently failed and the array went into a DEGRADED state. We have installed a new 40GB drive, but can't seem to get it to re-mirror. The drive automatically wants to install as an ONLINE SPARE, but when you select to REBUILD ARRAY using the ONLINE SPARE it keeps giving an error message, something about invalid drive...
What is the correct procedure when replacing a failed drive in terms of re-building the array?
Many thanks,
Richard.

Re: ML330 G3 - MEGARAID ATA (CSB-6) - Problems rebuilding a DEGRADED RAID1 array...
Might have to do with the physical parameters of the new drive. I know that the mirror ATA I run on this workstation is very sensitive to what drive is used as replacement. Down to having to have the exact drive to replace it. So I have a 3rd in the box as a spare
