ML370 G5 SAS Raid help?
Greetings!
I just inherited the above server and just wanted to clarify what I would like to do. I need to do a new operating system install because of some domain issues. The current setup is Windows 2003 Standard with 4 2.5 SAS hotplug drives, configured Raid 1 through the OS. This is on the E200 controller. I would like to add 4 identical drives, install my new OS (SBS 2003) and copy old data as needed. I'm wondering if I will be able to access the old RAID partitions once the new OS is installed? I fully intend to backup to tape and also copy the data to a NAS device and even possibly hook up a BlackX to copy data to a SATA drive, but I would think the local RAID partition would be fast and also I'd like to preserve the original server setup in case of an OMG situation. Also should I use an HP RAID setup for my install and will it be able to see the MS RAID? Any been there done that, don't go there's or gotchas? Thanks in advance!

I want to use RAID 5 on the new set.
