MPIO on AIX with XP24k
During testing on AIX 5.3 TL9 SP4 and AIX 5.3 TL12 SP2, the paths do not come back on in the time frame expected. The hdisk is defined with the following attributes:
hcheck_cmd=inquiry
hcheck_interval=10
hcheck_mode=enabled
reserve_policy=no_reserve
After the problem with connectivity is fixed, it can take anywhere from 5-20 minutes before the path comes online instead of 10-20 seconds. The fibre card shows link the entire time. The path can be brought back online manually with no delay.
Any ideas why it takes so long to automatically bring the path online?

Re: MPIO on AIX with XP24k
I think your best course of action here would be to raise a tkt with HP StorageWorks support if MPIO is fully supported with XP24000 or if there are configuration rules that you have missed.
Most Hitachi Installations (the XP24K is Hitachi USP btw) I know use Hitachi's multipathing software though - which in the XP's case coould be SecrePath (unsure though).

The patches referenced in the HP support document are already applied on the system.
