MSA 1500CS

Hi,

I inherited an older MSA 1500cs SAN and have no way of knowing how Im supposed to go in and configure new LUNS?

Im adding this SAN to a VMware environment and need to be able to add the HBA WWN somewhere, correct?

Re: MSA 1500CS

Hello,

you have to use ACU (Array Configuration Utility) to configure the array, setup arrays, logical drives and present them to the hosts. Please note that VMware vSphere isn't support with it.

You need the WWNP of the HBAs for the selective storage prensentation of the MSA1500cs. The array will detect the WWPNs itself, if it's zoned to the hosts.

Re: MSA 1500CS

where do I go in and add the WWPN of the ESX hosts? How and where do I create LUNS to be presented the vSphere?

When you say it's not supported does it mean it doesn work with ESX 4.0?

Thanks for your help!

Re: MSA 1500CS

You will probably need the HP Array Configuration utility. The ACU manual (GUI/CLI) is available at http://docs.hp.com/en/9320/acu.pdf

There is also a doc for VMware specific setup for MSA 1500CS:
