MSA 2012fc Adding Phys Disk and Quarantine
I have a MSA 2012fc with 5 * 300GB SAS 15k drives.
For some reason the original builder installed the drives in SLOTS 0, 1, 3, 7, 9 (in other words the top ROW and then the left slot in the 2nd row) instead of using SLOTS 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 (the left column and the 2nd left column).
the Drive in slot 1 is s SPARE.
I needed to add more storage and expand the vdisk into the storage so I slotted in 7 more drives.
These went into slots 2, 4 , 5, 7, 8, 10, 11
Now I get an error on the MS SMU indicating a virtual disk warning and the Vdisk is Quarnantined.
The SAN is used to host a load balanced set of VMWARE 3.5 VMDKs and they are still accessible.
From the enclosure view the pre-existing drives are a deep blue/grey and the other drives are GREEN with the exception of the new drive in slot 2 which is a lighter blue/grey colour and the mouse-over indicator says that this disk is in the Vdisk1 array already !!
Any ideas?
