MSA 30 Support in Solaris v890

Hi,

I have once MSA 30 JBOD. I cannot find whether Solaris was support in the matrix. Any idea? I was thought that as long as it is SCSI it can be used by any machine that support such interface.

Re: MSA 30 Support in Solaris v890

Hi,

There is no support for Sun servers/Solaris for MSA30 JBOD.

Secondly using on non-supported platform depends on how you are going to use. If using only as JBOD , then ensuring using supported HBA on Solaris for this array might work. If you are looking using RAID controller cards , then they should support MSA30. If you are going to use mirroring s/w in case of MSA 30 DB , then the mirroring s/w should support this array.

Obviously, it is always recommended to have supported configuration on any platform.

Re: MSA 30 Support in Solaris v890

Kholikt,

The MSA30 is an Ultra320 SCSI-based JBOD (just a bunch of disks, or ... like Headlands).
It does not support connectivity to Sun Microsystems' Solaris-based any servers.
