MSA Disk replaced - how to bring it online to rebuild, and free up the spare?
Hi

There is a command with a swicth to saconfig or sautil to rebuild the disk, but I cannot find it.
Any ideas?

Maybe the disk is dead too?
Consider to put the second spare disk in this slot ... or use another disk, if you have.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: MSA Disk replaced - how to bring it online to rebuild, and free up the spare?
You could be right, although there was definitiely a command I ran to transition the disk fron 'NOT RESPONDING' to ''READY FOR RECOVERY' (or similar).
We have a slot tomorrow to bring down the server and MSA, so will see if that's makes any difference.
The disk the eng. replaced was 2:4, I told him the 12th one across.

Re: MSA Disk replaced - how to bring it online to rebuild, and free up the spare?
"READY FOR RECOVERY"
you can use
# sautil start_recovery
to start recovery.
But the disk in question has still FAILED status.
So obviously the disk doesn't answer at all.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: MSA Disk replaced - how to bring it online to rebuild, and free up the spare?
Is there any similar command available in Windows to fix "Ready for Recovery" status?
