MSA1000 ROM cloning failed

When downgrading hot added controller (by ROM cloning) from firmware 4.48 to 4.32, active controller says "ROM cloning failed" at the end of cloning. After this message, downgraded controller reboots and operates normally (switched controller via SecurePath manager).
Is it normally?

Up.
Our HP support never encoutered such a situation...

Re: MSA1000 ROM cloning failed

Hi,

I guess, one of the circumstances under which such thing can happen would be firmware in-compatibility with certain hardware revisions of a controller.

Can you provide more details like the sequences of actions and what you see ( formware versions etc ) after downgrade?

Re: MSA1000 ROM cloning failed

I got the same situtation with a MSA1000 Controller in a MSA1500 enviroment. The new added second controller should upgrade the firmware to the firmware level of the first controller. The cloning failed with the message "ROM cloning failed". After a reboot of the controller the firmware level was the same as the first controller and the second, now upgraded controller, runs fine.
