MSA1000 SAN Firmware Upgrade

Hi,

I have a MSA1000 SAN.

I don't have HP HBAs so I can't see the SAN controller through ACU.

I am wondering what is the best way to upgrade the firmware? Can I do it through the CLI?

Cheers

Nathan

Re: MSA1000 SAN Firmware Upgrade

Hi Nathan,

Have a read of this -> http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00683410/c00683410.pdf

The CLI does appear to be a possibility now.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

Re: MSA1000 SAN Firmware Upgrade

As far as I can remember, the MSA does not get upgraded through the ACU. There is a MSAFlash utility that should work no matter which HBA's you have... unless you have no HBA's at all in which case... why bother upgrading the MSA if you can't use it?

Re: MSA1000 SAN Firmware Upgrade

Hi,

Thanks for the info.
Yes I do have HBAs but just not HP ones.

I have tried the MSAFlash utility but it couldn't find the SAN either.

I will check the cabling and then also try the CLI option.

Cheers
