MSA1000 cascaded with additional enlclosure
I have a MSA1000 SAN which is connected two servers via fibre cables. These are HP Proliant DL585 G1 servers and
running RHEL AS 4 (nahant update 3).
The MSA1000 houses 14 disks setup as two separate raid 5 sets. The first Raid 5 set contains 10 disks for the Database
server and the remaining Raid 5 set counts 4 disks.
The two raid 5 sets are running short of disk space so we decided to addon an extra tray with 14 x 146Gb disks to allow us to expabd our disk space problem.
I have attached the output to see how we have configured our two Raid 5 sets..
Can anyone explain how to configure the additional 14 disks into our current Raid 5 sets without losing any data?

Re: MSA1000 cascaded with additional enlclosure
You should be able to expand the existing arrays, and then extend the LUNS.
Depends on the OS used, but ACU should be able to assist in this.
Obviously, backup all your data first !
