MSA1000 installation on L2000/HP-UX

We would like to purchase MSA1000 but want to know if exsisting HP Tachyon TL/TS FC Mass Storage adapter on L2000 server will communicate
through HP Brocade/silkworm 2800 FC/switch.

Hi,

HP Tachyon TL/TS Fibre Channel Mass Storage Adapter is the HP A5158A. Yes, this adapter will communicate with msa1000 through HP/Brocade Silkworm 2800 fc switch.
All you need are:

1) HP-UX 11i v1 (11.11)

2) Current L2000 firmware 44.28
The firmware is available as patch PHSS_31801 from ITRC

3) Current FC driver FibrChanl-00 B.11.11.09

Note, that the A5158A is a 1Gb fc hba, so you will be limited to this mode. msa1000 is 2Gb/1Gb autosensing device. You can consider using of 2Gb FC hba. You can use one of the following:

A6795A 2Gb/1Gb FC HBA
A6826A 2 port 2Gb/1Gb FC HBA
A9782A 2Gb/1Gb FC / 1000Base-SX Combo
A9784A 2Gb/1Gb FC / 1000Base-T Combo
