MSA1000 multishelf optimal configuration

MSA1000 multishelf optimal configuration

I would like to configure 22*140GB disks across the MSA1000 plus two external shelves in RAID 1+0.
Whats the best way to do this to ensure a) highest performance and b) resilence to shelf failure (ie do not have both parts of a mirror on the same shelf)?

How is storage going to presented to the server(s)? Whats the maximum partition size you need?
