MSA1500 unknwon device in device manager
We have an MSA1500 controller connected to 4 Servers (2x DL380G4 + 2x DL585G2). Each have 1 LUN on the MSA1500
The DL380G4 Servers (Win2003 EntEd R2) were installed with MSA1500 support CD 7.57 and are functioning properly.
The new DL585G2 Servers (x64 Win2003 EntED R2) are installed with MSA1500 support CD 7.67
We have created 1 LUN for each DL585G2 and we can use the LUN without any problem
But, After the installation completed I saw in device manager the MSA controller as an unknown device => See attachment
One difference I noticed between both MSA1500 support CD's is that the Windows Event Notification Service on the 7.57 CD needs to be installed manually and on the 7.67 it installs automatically?
Can it be that this service didn't install correctly or am I wrong?

Re: MSA1500 unknwon device in device manager
You need the cpqfcac.sys driver. On x64 boxes, do a search for the driver.
If that comes back "not found", then I recommend you get the latest SmartStart CD (7.80). Other SmartStarts will have it but 7.80 has the latest cpqfcac driver. If you download the 7.80, you might as well update all your PSP for your systems.

Re: MSA1500 unknwon device in device manager
Ok,
I figured it out.
I just needed to reinstall the Qlogic driver again. After the Qlogic is installed a window automatically popups and ask to install de Fibre Channel Notification Driver.
This time it worked.
