MSA1510i: 2TB Logical Drive Limitiation

I'm using the MSA1510i as a staging area for my disk backups before they're sent off to tape. I have 20TB of storage but there is a limitation w/ MSA1501i where you can only have 2TB logical drives.

Would it be best practice to create 10 2TB logical drives and then use Windows 2003 Server that is connected via iSCSI to span the drives to make my 20TB drive? Are there performance issues w/ this?

I'm not sure what you mean by having Windows span the drives to make your 20TB drive? If there is such a feature in Windows Server 2003 it would be independent of the 10x2TB logical drives on the MSA1510i and not be a performance problem.

Striped volume will give more performance than simple span.

I'm affraid the MS iSCSI initiator does not support dynamic volumes. But you need those to create a spanned/striped volume...
