Hello,
We have at a customer an MSA1500 with an MSA20 full of 12 250Gb SATA disks. We are going to replace the MSA20 with an MSA30 with 10 300Gb SCSI disks.
The MSA1500/MSA20 have the latest firmware (5.02/1.42). If we replace the MSA20 with the MSA30, will the firmware 5.02 support the MSA30? I do not know the firmware of the MSA30 yet.
Kind Regards,
Vince

Solution
Yes, the MSA1500cs has supported the MSA30 from day 1. Compared to the MSA20, the MSA30 is a rather simple disk drive enclosure with no embedded SmartArray controller. The only relevant firmware revision I am aware of is the EMU. Please note that you cannot connect TWO MSA30 to a single SCSI I/O module.
