MSA2021i LUNs Not Appearing

We've just bought an MSA2012i with a second disk enclosure and 24 disks.

I've configured it with 2 vdisks and mapped the disks to host LUNs but only the LUNs in the first vdisk appear to the iSCSI initiator. I've tried VMWare ESXi, Windows and Linux initiators and get the same result with each so the problem lies with the disk array.

Can anybody explain what I need to do to get the LUNs in the second vdisk to appear?

show host-maps CLI command output below...

Re: MSA2021i LUNs Not Appearing

Which controller owns the second vdisk? If it's the second one, did you configure the hosts to access it, too?

Re: MSA2021i LUNs Not Appearing

We only have 1 controller in the first enclosure though there are 2 enclosures. One of the disks in the second enclosure is in the first vdisk so I don't think it's the enclosure that's the problem.

Thanks,

Re: MSA2021i LUNs Not Appearing

Please check the assignment again to be sure both vdisks are assigned to the only controller. From reading a customer adivisory, it sounds like some firmwareversions do allow one to assign a vdisk to a non-existent controller.

Re: MSA2021i LUNs Not Appearing

Both are assigned to controller A...

You might notice that I'm expanding the first VDISK - we did this because we need the extra space in a hurry, we already had the problem before I added 2 disks.
