MSA30 Not recognizing Drive
We have a Proliant DL380 G4 with a MSA30 with 6 x 300 gig drives loaded and running properly. I would like to add another logical drive to run side by side with the current partition. I put a new drive in, it lights up for a minute and completely goes blank. The HP array config utility doesn't even show the drive present. Am i missing something here or is there a problem. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Re: MSA30 Not recognizing Drive
Hi Mike,
How have you positioned all the disks in your MSA30 ?
Are the original 6 HDD's running sequential from the left ? Was the 7th HDD added to the next free slot ?

Re: MSA30 Not recognizing Drive
Drive lights don't turn on until it is part of a LUN.
Is your MSA30 Dual bus or Single Bus.
If you reboot, can you configure via the ORCA. ORCA is the online configuration utility right after POST.

Re: MSA30 Not recognizing Drive
I'll try this over the weekend, and see what happens. Thanks for the input!
