MSA500 Disk Cluster

One of the steps in clustering the MSA500 is to create a Quorum drive. What steps do you do to create this drive.

Re: MSA500 Disk Cluster

Hi,

For "Quorum" disk , you need to create a logical drive (LUN) in MSA500 using ACU.
The recommended size of this lun is 510MB.
The steps are given the ACU user guide.

You can refer docs from the Documentation CD. The links for ACU user guide and MSA500 cluster configuraion are

Re: MSA500 Disk Cluster

All operations via ACU

1. Create Array
2. Create Logical Drive with RAID1+0 Lvl (250-500MB)
3. Enable SPP but not present LD to hosts
4. Connect both host to MSA
5. Present LUN to one host - verify read/write operation
6. Unpresent, do the same to another host.

Shutdown 1 none
Present LD to both nodes
Begin MSCS setup

Re: MSA500 Disk Cluster

Thans for your reply...

We were able to get both nodes to see the new quorum disk. When we run the MSCS during the analyzing we are getting the following error.

Error 0x80071de: The quorum disk could not be located by the cluster service.

Re: MSA500 Disk Cluster

Hi,

This error could happen because in-correct cluster h/w & s/w setup.

Have you verified the cluster setup requirements? If not , refer following url for checklists for respective OS.

Refer this url for resolution if applicable to your OS.
