Migrating to/from Other Controllers

I am searching for a "Up to Day" Support Matrix for Migrating to/from other Smart Controllers.
For example: Upgrade Smart-2SL to 431, or Downgrade 431 to 2DH.
I have found a Table in "Smart Array 3200 Controller Reference Guide, C-5", but only for 3200, same in 4xxx Ref. Guide.
No Table is existing for 4xx Controllers.
Also this Table's are no more True.
Downgrade from 3200 to 2DH the Table say's BU/Restore.
But after Update to newest Controller Firmware on 2DH it works fine.

i have succesfully swapped controllers between 431's, 221's, 2dh's and 3200's... in fact im at work at the moment having just swapped a 431 and 3200's drives round.. the only problem i have with them is that the 431 has problems recognising a online spare that was created on another controller... still trying to figure that one out.. ;)

yes. would be a great help from COMPAQ to create a compatibility-matrix... which controller can be exchanged with which one... and where are the problems and possible suggestions for some operating systems. i always call the call-center when i'm not 100% sure... but they often do not know either.

Smart-5300 Array Controllers (may loose a few megabytes of the former Smart 431 swap area on the stripe set)

The Smart-5300 Array Controller can be migrated to the

Smart-3200 Array Controller (depends on Advanced Data Guarding Usage and Support)
Smart-4xxx Array Controllers (depends on Advanced Data Guarding Usage and Support)

The LC2 Array Controller can be migrated to the

Smart-221 Array Controller (may loose a few megabytes of the former LC2 swap area in the stripe set)
Smart-431 Array Controller
Smart-3200 Array Controller (may loose a few megabytes of the former LC2 swap area in the stipe set)
Smart-4200 Array Controller (may loose a few megabytes of the former LC2 swap area in the stripe set)
Smart-5300 Array Controllers ( may loose a few megabytes of the former LC2 swap area in the stripe set)

Be aware that you might have to upgrade the BIOS, System Configuration Utility, Frimware on the Smart Array Controller and drivers.
