Can you mirrow at the Directory instead of the filesystem level?

Re: Mirroring Using Business Copy
NO! Mirroring allows you to duplicate a volume at the physical spindle level.
IF you are using Business copy on an EVA, you could create a small 1GB LUN that could hold the folder that you want to mirror.
SNAP, CLONE, SNAP_CLONE all copy the entire volume.
The EVA is OS independant. It doesn't care what the file system on the device is. And as such, it doesn't have OS level capabilities like DIR and COPY of individual files/folders.

Re: Mirroring Using Business Copy
Actually mirroring is done at the logical volume level.
Business Copy works at the LUN level. If your logical volume is on more than one LUN you need to have a Business Copy paor for each LUN.

Re: Mirroring Using Business Copy
Actually, you are correct in that on the EVA your mirror/raid is at the logical LUN level.
The original concept on the HSx controllers had it at the physical spindal level.
Either way, the answer to his question is NO!
