Mod 20 Microcode from 2Gb to 18Gb disk
Related question to the previous.
I have found HP suppliers that have both 2Gb and 4Gb disk drive that are from working Mod 20 Units.
Can I use these smaller density disk to transfer the Mod 20 Microcode onto the 18Gb disk.
Or do I have to have an 18Gb with the correct microcode to transfer to the 18Gb we have with the incorrect mod 30 microcode??
I don't imagine that the size of the Disk matters but I wanted to ask.
Thanks!!

Re: Mod 20 Microcode from 2Gb to 18Gb disk
Hello,
You can, but, the Nike 20 array needs one for the later microcodes to support the 18Gb disks, and, since you are getting them from 2Gb or 4Gb disks, I wonder if that is the case.
If you have the SP controller, the microcode revision should be 9.25.00, if you have the SP620 controller, the reviosion should be 9.55.01. This is of course, to support the 18Gb disks.
The SP controller has a disable/enable switch on it, whereas the SP620 does not. That is how you distinguish between them.
HTH,
Vince
