Re: Multiple disk failure in an EVA 4400
There are so many possibilities.
First you need to check the status of the EVA. Are there any other components failed like enclosures, IO modules etc?
Then check the event logs.
They may indicate the reasons and sequence of what happened.
ANd have you experienced power outages or so recently?
Pete

Re: Multiple disk failure in an EVA 4400
Is your FW up to date?
A Hardware failure other than disk may be the cause, even a fan on the disk enclosure. I could not understand why an ungrouped disk fails actually.
Best way is to open a call to HP.

Re: Multiple disk failure in an EVA 4400
Hello,
John,
You wrote
"disk failure on the ungrouped disk"
Most cases failed disks end up in "ungrouped disks"
Did you have these disks in "ungrouped disks" before they failed ?.
With 3 diskshelfs (36 disks max) and more then 1 diskfailure in a year unlikely these disks are bad.
Agree with Peter but I would go for backend FC cables first.
Regards
