New Installation L-class server with SC10

I have connected a SC10 Disk array to a new L-Class 2100 (rp5450) Server. The systems is having a FW Diff. SCSI Controller thru which the SC10 is connected. When I do a ioscan the controller is getting recognized but the the disks are not showing up. What could be the problem?. Thanks in advance for the quick response ... Ramesh K R

Ramesh,
The SC10 needs LVD controller (A5149A or A5150A). What kind of SCSI host bus adapter has your L-Calls installed?

Re: New Installation L-class server with SC10

Hi Patrick,

We are having PCI FWD SCSI-2 Card( A4800A ) and SCSI Cable VHDT568/HDT568 M/M Adaptor
( C2365B ). Will this do??

Hello,

No, that's an HVD controller, not LVD controller.

Get the one Patrick mentioned.

Re: New Installation L-class server with SC10

Ramesh,
As Vincent already wrote: There is no way to get an SC10 functioning on an A4800A host bus adapter. The A4800A is a high voltage adapter, the BCC in the SC10 is designed for low voltage.

You can use the built in SCSI controller also.

Re: New Installation L-class server with SC10

Hi All,

Thanks a lot for the info. It really helped us. You people are absolutely right. SC10 requires LVD cards only. We connected SC10 to one LVD card on the m/c & it got recognised immidietly.

Sandeep,
What do you mean by "Built in SCSI controller"?? How can we use this??

I mean to say the SCSI port on the core I/O Card.

Hi Sandip,

Yes you are right. But, we are having HA, this will not give the dedicated bus, which is required for HA.
